A message from our President & CEO

I hope this message finds you well. This is a trying and stressful time for all of our customers, and I wanted to reach out today to provide you with updates and information related to the evolving COVID-19 situation. First and foremost, please know that the banking industry is very strong right now, and Maine Community Bank, as well as both our divisions, Biddeford Savings and Mechanics Savings, is well-capitalized, and well-prepared to support our customers through this evolving climate.

Our team knows that many of our customers will be financially affected over the next several months. We are working very closely with borrowers impacted by COVID-19 by modifying loans, offering relief loans to consumers and businesses, helping customers navigate programs through the SBA and FAME, as well as the new CARES Act that was just approved. Please don’t hesitate to call or email us to discuss your individual situation. At times like this, a community bank is a critical part of your support system, and we are here to help. We encourage you to stay up-to-date by regularly visiting our COVID-19 Resource Center.

Our Branches

Effective Monday, March 30, we are temporarily adjusting the hours at all of our locations until further notice. The new hours will be 9 AM – 4 PM Monday through Friday, and we will be closed on Saturdays. All locations continue to provide drive-up service only.

If you have banking needs that cannot be met with remote banking or drive up options, please call us to set-up an appointment.

Health and Safety is of Utmost Importance

The health and safety of our customers and employees remains at the forefront of our minds. We have not yet had any reported instances of the coronavirus at any of our locations, but we are prepared to respond quickly and effectively if necessary. We continue to follow CDC guidelines and have been adjusting the ways that we provide service and interact with each other and our customers to reduce in-person contact and potential exposure. We have the infrastructure in place to ensure that our products, services, and operations continue seamlessly.

We have a number of services available to our customers to ensure that you can continue to perform your regular banking transactions:

  • Online Banking services at biddefordsavings.com or mechanicssavings.com including online Bill Pay. If you are not already enrolled, please sign up by clicking on the yellow Login box in the upper right-hand corner and clicking the Enroll Now link.
  • Our Mobile Banking apps offers many convenient features, including mobile check deposit.
  • Automated telephone banking is available 24/7 by calling 1-866-767-8669 (Biddeford) or 1-877-866-1020 (Mechanics).
  • Mobile text message banking allows you to check your account balances and view recent transactions from any mobile phone with text message capability.
  • Access cash anytime with our ATM access worldwide, free* of charge with select checking accounts.
  • Our night deposit is available to make deposits at all of our branches.
  • Need to pay someone? Send, receive, and request money from people securely using Popmoney® as a part of our online Bill Pay service.
  • Call or email our Support Team

Cyber Security Warning

Cybercriminals often use stress and fear to take advantage of people. Please be cautious of unusual emails, text messages, or phone calls you may receive, especially any asking for your banking information or personal information like social security numbers.

Taking Care of our Employees

We are committed to supporting our employees and ensuring their jobs, including pay and benefits, are secure. Right now, a majority of our employees are working from home and are finding creative ways to stay connected and support one another.

Serving our Community

Our commitment to our communities is stronger than ever during this time. Most recently, Maine Community Bank was proud to join with the other members of the Maine Bankers Association to collectively raise $61K for local food banks. We will continue to support organizations that help residents meet their basic needs during this time, as well as those working to ensure that we emerge from this stronger than ever.

In addition to our contribution to the Maine Bankers Association initiative, we’ve also provided $5,000 of funding to United Way of York County’s COVID-19 Relief Fund, which will be used for housing and food assistance for individuals and families impacted by the pandemic in York County.

We Are Prepared

As a critical service, our bank has a Business Continuity Team in place. Our team meets daily to review COVID-19 updates and guidance from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), World Health Organization (WHO), and state and local authorities to make adjustments to our plans in real-time.

We will continue to be responsive with support and assistance for our customers, employees, and community. We also understand how important regular and detailed communication is at this unprecedented time, so we will continue to update you as we make adjustments.
