Mechanics Savings Bank Donates $3,000 to Tree Street Youth

January 29, 2018 - LEWISTON, ME - Mechanics Savings Bank recently signed on as a Branch Art sponsor for the 2018 I Am Tree event, scheduled for Thursday, April 26 at The Atrium at Bates Mill. I Am Tree is Tree Street’s annual fundraising event which supports program costs.
If you walk into Tree Street Youth on any given afternoon, you'll experience a building is brimming with energy. Some rooms are filled with kids doing homework, while other rooms are focused on enrichment activities, such as cooking lessons or dance classes. The gym is full of kids burning off energy playing sports. Everywhere you look, you see inspirational messages that encourage kids to continue learning and growing with an eye toward the future.
The leadership at Tree Street Youth strives to eliminate economic barriers by providing a space of equal opportunity and advancement for local youth. I Am Tree is a way for Tree Street Youth leaders and students to celebrate their accomplishments and share them with the community. The programming at Tree Street has enabled local youth to hope, dream and rise up to any occasion possible, which is why the theme of this year’s event is ”I Am the Future”.
