Mechanics Savings Bank and Maine Community Bancorp appoint two new directors

July 26, 2018 - AUBURN, ME - Maine Community Bancorp, the mutual holding company that owns Mechanics Savings Bank and Biddeford Savings Bank, recently announced that Amy Landry and Elaine Runyon have been appointed to the board of directors for Mechanics Savings Bank. Both Landry and Runyon will also serve on the Maine Community Bancorp board of directors.
“We are very fortunate to have these two talented individuals bring their expertise to our Boards,” said Jon Oxman, board chair for both Mechanics Savings and Maine Community Bancorp. “Each of these leaders brings tremendous experience and value to further strengthen and diversify our board of directors.”
Ms. Landry is the CEO of Maine Optometry, PA. She manages their eight practice locations, as well as their real estate division. Since joining Maine Optometry in 2016, Ms. Landry has worked with the physician owners to grow and strengthen the operations of the practice, increasing revenue growth and patient access, and has overseen three major building projects.
Ms. Landry holds a Master of Healthcare Administration and a Bachelor of Arts in Healthcare Administration from New England College. She lives in Auburn with her family and is actively involved in community organizations, including the Fairview Elementary School Parent Teacher Organization and Trinity Jubilee Center.
Ms. Runyon is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) and serves as the Controller at Portland Country Club. She brings experience communicating at a strategic level and is skilled in developing and executing plans for teams to support business decisions.
Ms. Runyon holds a Master of Business Administration from University of Southern Maine and a Bachelor of Arts in Accounting from University of West Florida. She lives in New Gloucester with her husband and serves as an advisor for Edward Little High School students through the Olympia Snowe Women’s Leadership Institute. She is also a trustee at First Christian Congregational Church of New Gloucester.
